Nautic.otf

Mit fünf Schnitten ist die Nautic eine grandios ausgebaute Open-Type-Schrift von Henning Skibbe. Der Type- und Grafikdesigner ist aktuell mit der Haptic präsent, und er ist Mitentwickler der neuen Dingbats-Version 2.0.
Die Nautic hat ein sehr speziell eckiges an sich mit kleinen details wie der Abstrich am “o”.

A Shared Encyclopedia of Typefaces
typedia.com. Eine neues Portal am Community-Himmel. Nach dem Vorbild der Wikipedia nun eine für die Welt der Schriften. Bisher sind eifrige User dabei viel Input einzupflegen, und im Laufe der Zeit wird es sicherlich eine hilfreiche Anlaufstelle sein. Schicke Idee.
We love type, and we have a burning desire to learn as much as possible about typefaces: where they come from, who made them, and why they look the way they do. We want everyone to be able to share in that rich knowledge and enjoy the art and artists of type design.

Clipper: Big Phat Free-Font

Clipper von Dominic Le-Haar ist ein “super-phat” Font und Teil des freien und Open-Source Portals »ImJustCreative« die zahlreiche Freefonts listen.
Die Clipper ist jetzt nicht so die alltagstauglichste Schrift, aber die Idee einen Fingernagel-Knipser als Fontwerkzeug zu benutzen, finde ich erwähnenswert auf meinen kleinem bescheidenen Blog.

FuzzyFelt, ein 24 Glyphen Photoshop-Font
A child hood memory, Fuzzy Felt was created in 1950 by Lois Allan. Using machines which originally created felt gaskets for tanks, she has created one of Britain’s all time favourite toys.
To keep the character and detail of the felt I decided to keep the font as individual PSD files, converting the glyphs to vector completely stripped them of any felt resemblance. Using the files may take a little bit longer than using a font file but the outcome will definitely be worth it.
